The Lush List
An irregularly, erratically posted list of things that catch my eye...
1. Sound of Music train station
This vid has been circulating for awhile, but just came across my screen. Had I been there, I would have been hard-pressed to keep from joining in.
The Huffington Post has an analysis of why the video went viral, but to me it's pretty obvious: nostalgia + people doing unexpected things in unexpected places.

2. Wall Street Journal Micropayments
According to an article in the Financial Times, News Corp is planning on introducing micropayments for individual articles on the WSJ's website later this year. Usually, a yearly subscription fee of $100 is required to read articles on the site. The micropayment model would provide a solution for those like myself who just want to read an article once in awhile. It's incredibly frustrating to see a piece from the Journal referenced somewhere online, and then not to be able to read it when I actually click on it!
If they can find the right price point, it seems like a win-win situation. News Corp. could start to make some $$ off of folks who aren't regular readers and those of us who find our way Journal articles via links would be happy. The key is making the cost something that doesn't cause readers to pause when they click on the "purchase" button. Hmm, that $.99 song pricing seemed to work for a li'l service called iTunes...
3. Ode to the Vulcan Nerve Pinch
Saw the new movie. Loved it. I could quibble with a few details, but really, what's the point? I pretty much grinned through the whole damn thing. So in honor of all things Trek, here's a li'l compilation from the original.
